SOURCES: Manchester United Yet To Communicate Final Amrabat Decision To Fiorentina

Manchester United remain interested in Sofyan Amrabat after allowing the loan package of expire last month, but as of now they are yet to communicate their final decision on the player to Fiorentina. The Red’s are expected to make a signing in midfield, and could even make two with their interest in Manuel Ugarte from PSG refusing to go away.

Amrabat is someone Erik ten Hag admires. The Moroccan came to life in the final stages of the season for United, playing a huge part in the FA Cup final against Manchester City with a Gattuso-esque performance, according to Paul Scholes. We understand United are still yet to give their final decision to Fiorentina regarding the player, and there remains an opportunity for him to return to the club this summer on a permanent deal, or another loan.

United Stall Amrabat Decision:

The sale of Scott McTominay, if it happens, is expected to allow some movement in the midfield for the club. United are operating on a sell-to-buy frequency at the moment, with McTominay the most likely sale due to the Red’s inability to move Casemiro on. The Brazilian is expected to remain at Old Trafford for at least another season.

Amrabat could be one of the two signings United make in this window to bolster the midfield. The former Utrecht midfielder could cost around €15m, which is a fee well within the range INEOS could afford. Manuel Ugarte’s potential move being a loan gives Erik ten Hag’s side a lot more leeway when it comes to PSR in the future, especially if Scott McTominay is sold in a deal that would give the club pure profit.
