SOURCES: Liverpool Winger Luis Diaz Has Admirers Internally At PSG, But Deal Unlikely
News broke yesterday about Luis Diaz and his current contract situation at Liverpool, and there were also some suggestions that the Columbian winger had interest from PSG. The French club are set to lose their star player, Kylian Mbappe this summer, and there is work ongoing internally to try and find a replacement plan for the Real Madrid bound star.
Diaz is out of contract at Liverpool in 2027, but there have been recent suggestions that talks over a new contract between the club and his agent have been difficult. The Barrancas born international captain has yet to agree to a contract extension.
Diaz Deal Unlikely:
We understand that while Luis Diaz does have admirers internally at PSG, a deal is unlikely. Luis Campos is not currently interested in the signing of the Columbian star, and those close to the French club do not believe he would be interested in joining them.
Barcelona are a more likely destination for Diaz if he does decide to leave Liverpool, but as of yet, there are no indications that a final decision has been made regarding his future. PSG have yet to formally announce their plan to replace Kylian Mbappe, but there are a number of players currently on the shortlist to possibly come in this summer. Diaz is liked by some but is not currently the main target of Campos.
Liverpool value Diaz at around £75m, and they are currently under no pressure to sell him considering his deal is valid for another three years. There have been some things said in the media by his agent regarding the player having dreams of playing for Barcelona in the future, and that could provide a challenge in the future for Liverpool.
As of now, to our understanding, a move to PSG is unlikely, despite the interest being very real.
