SOURCES: Bournemouth View Dominic Solanke As Important Player Amid Tottenham Interest

Tottenham’s interest in Dominic Solanke was confirmed yesterday, but as of yet, there has been no formal bid sent over to AFC Bournemouth for the player. Solanke was one of the standout players in the Premier League last season, scoring 19 goals in what turned out to be an impressive campaign under Andoni Iraola for Bournemouth.

Ange Postecoglou confirmed today that the club is looking for a striker, but they will find it difficult to get a deal done for Solanke this summer, despite their interest. We understand Bournemouth views the player as an important part of the squad amidst the interest. There is a release clause rumoured within the striker’s contract, but the club has yet to reveal how much that release clause currently is, and the numbers being quoted in the media at the moment are not said to be truthful.

Bournemouth View Solanke As Important:

Spurs played much of last season without a centre-forward after the departure of Harry Kane, and the lack of goals could be attributed to the reason they missed out on Champions League football to Aston Villa. Solanke is one of the names on the list, but he’s not said to be the only one, with other players around Europe also being admired by the Lilywhites. One of those players is Karim Konate from RB Salzburg, with Spurs among several Premier League clubs with a keen interest in the Ivorian.

Bournemouth are expected to hold firm on both Solanke and Milos Kerkez this summer as they look to solidify themselves as an important side within the Premier League. They have kept the head coach over the summer window, which is a huge boost with Iraola among the most-sought-after coaches within Europe, and can now focus on trying to move into the top ten of the league and hopefully into the European places if possible.

Tottenham’s interest in Solanke is clear, but a deal is not close as of yet and remains a very difficult prospect to complete.
