SOURCES: RB Salzburg Adamant Lucas Gourna-Douath Not For Sale Amid Manchester United Links
Lucas Gourna-Douath’s name has been linked to Manchester United in recent days as they search for a number six to freshen up the midfield this summer, but RB Salzburg are not interested in doing any business for the midfield at this current time. United are in contact with PSG for Manuel Ugarte, and have yet to make a final decision on the future of Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan is currently waiting to hear whether the club wishes to retain him for next season, with Fiorentina also in limbo.
Gourna-Douath is the type of profile Manchester United are looking for, and with Christopher Vivell’s ties to the Red Bull system, it would make sense that the deal could be something the club explores. We understand, however, that the club views their asset as not for sale, with his current contract not expiring until June 2027.
Gourna-Douath Not For Sale:
With deals for Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro already completed, totalling the spending so far at ÂŁ87.8m, United are expected to have to sell a number of players to reinvest back into the market in the coming weeks. A deal for Matthijs De Ligt is not currently out of the question, but with Everton refusing to drop their valuation for Jarrad Branthwaite, any deal for the defender is extremely difficult. The Blues view Branthwaite in the same bracket as Harry Maguire, Josko Gvardiol, and Wesley Fofana, and will not entertain offers below ÂŁ70m.
The club is also interested in signing a left-back, with concrete interest being held in Miguel Gutierrez from Girona. The player, however, would prioritise a move to Real Madrid, but is certainly not against a move to Manchester United or Borussia Dortmund.
Gourna-Douath is one of the most highly coveted midfielders on the market due to his profile, but as of now Salzburg are unwilling to do business, suggesting that if United do decide to move for the player, it could take a hefty fee for the Austrian club to part ways.
