SOURCES: Dani Olmo Situation Not Being Rushed As Release Clause Expiry Approaches
Dani Olmo was one of the standout players throughout EURO 2024, scoring and assisting the joint most goals combined along with Lamine Yamal. The Spanish midfielder was a wanted man before the whistle blew to start the tournament, and it’s no surprise that the interest has only grown substantially since the competition ended.
The Leipzig midfielder has a release clause in his contract which expires on the 20th of July, but sources close to us here at AttackingFootball understand there is no rush at the moment when it comes to his future. The player could still leave after the expiration of his release clause, with a number of clubs within the Premier League interested in him.
Dani Olmo In No Rush:
Among those are Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City, but there is also significant admiration for the player at Bayern Munich, as well as Barcelona. The midfielder is a product of Barcelona’s youth academy, but as things stand there is nothing concrete with any club. Reports of an agreement being reached with Manchester City are currently wide of the mark, but a move for the player has also absolutely not been ruled out later in the window.
Club’s will be forced to negotiate directly with Leipzig as opposed to triggering the Spaniards £52m release clause after the deadline on July 20th. This could work out better for the interested parties, as they may be able to negotiate a better payment structure on the deal, as opposed to paying the £52m up front in a straight cash deal.
The player is one to watch, but as things stand he is relaxed about his future, and there is no rush to try and find a new club.
