Liverpool Handed MAJOR Injury Blow as Player Forced Off After Just 10 Minutes

Liverpool have been dealt a fresh blow as Joe Gomez’s injury forced him off just 10 minutes into their FA Cup tie against Plymouth Argyle.

The Englishman had only recently returned from injury and now faces more time on the sidelines. At the moment, it is unclear how serious it is, but on the pitch, it seemed the captain on the day was questioning whether to stay on or not. He was replaced by debutant Isaac Mabaya.

According to those at the game, there was no obvious sign of injury, and he was walking off quite freely, with people speculating he could just be unwell.

Hopes at Anfield will be that the No. 12 and the medical staff are just being careful with a player who has only just returned from a hamstring issue. With a Merseyside derby on Wednesday, you would expect Joe Gomez to be an injury doubt.

This will no doubt be frustrating for both Gomez and Slot. The Reds are currently fighting in all four competitions, and with games set to ramp up, Liverpool will need as many numbers as they can get.

Before his last injury, the England international had worked his way back up the pecking order, seemingly overtaking Jarrell Quansah in Arne Slot’s plans. The centre-back has been a useful utility player over the years, playing on both sides at fullback and even having spells as a No. 6.
