Most Premier League fans are resigned to the fact that the title will be heading to Anfield this season as Arne Slot’s Liverpool have opened up a 13-point gap at the top of the league with 11 GW’s left to play.
But as European action begins to heat up approaching the business end of the season, there is still plenty left to play for.
Ahead of our last FPL preview, we picked Bournemouth’s wideman Julian Kluivert as our surprise pick but after the Cherries were reduced to 10 men after Ilya Zabarnyi’s red card after half an hour, they faced an uphill task and ultimately fell to a 1-0 defeat.
Wolves were full value for their victory, and Dutch international Kluivert was unable to effect the game, which resulted in him picking up a disappointing 2 points.

We’re running out of ways to describe the form the Egyptian has produced this season. His numbers speak for themselves, as he has bagged 25 goals and 17 assists in the league alone, meaning he has by far the highest points total in FPL this season with 291.
After having an unusually quiet night in Paris on Wednesday, the Reds main man will fancy his chances of finding the net as Liverpool welcome relegation-bound Southampton to Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
He was on the scoresheet twice when the teams met in November and will be hopeful of adding to that tally as Arne Slot’s side look to take another step towards the league title.
Talks continue to circulate if the goal machine will be at Anfield next season. Liverpool fans are desperate for him to extend his contract with the club, however the situation continues to drag on. Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander Arnold are also in contract talks with the club.

A battle between the 3rd and 4th placed teams in this years league as Manchester City head to the City ground to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
Only 1 point separates the teams heading into the final part of the season with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side continuing to over-achieve with the likes of Chris Wood, Morgan Gibbs-White and Nikola Milenkovic all in top form.
Norwegian goal-machine Haaland has found his 3rd season in England difficult as City sit in 4th place despite bagging 20 league goals.
City’s run of securing 4 league titles in a row is coming to an end with players such as Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan all beginning to struggle with the pace of the Premier League.
Haaland will have a tough task of breaching Forest’s defence this weekend as the centre-back pairing of Murillo and Milenkovic have formed one of the most feared partnerships in the league this season.

FPL GW28 Best Captain Options: The Surprise Pick
- Eberechi Eze (6.7m)
- Expected points: 5.36
Having played against this weekend’s opponents Ipswich Town 3 times in his career, Eberechi Eze has yet to experience defeat against the Tractor Boys.
A positive stat ahead of their meeting and even though the Eagles sit comfortably in 12th position, they will have a slight ambition of making a late charge for a European spot as they sit only 8 points behind 6th position.
A nasty looking injury to target-man Jean-Phillip Mateta last weekend is likely to rule him out of this weekend’s clash and that will put extra responsibility on their main man Eze to perform.
He is the sort of player that will relish that responsibility and we can see him taking control of this match.
He’s a player we have been impressed by for the last few years and since the departure of influential players such as Wilfried Zaha & Michael Olise, he has taken over as the clubs most important player. For that reason we feel confident in bringing him into our FPL team ahead of this round of fixtures and also trusting him with the captain’s armband.
