SOURCES: Moussa Diaby is Close To Joining Saudi Side Al Ittihad

Aston Villa are set to lose Moussa Diaby just a year after signing him from Al Ittihad, with the winger close to completing a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad. The deal is said to be close to completion, according to sources close to us here at AttackingFootball, with the former Leverkusen winger anticipated to be handed a mega package upon arrival at the club.

#It’s set to be one of two arrivals at the club, with Houssem Aouar also close to joining the club, the Roma midfielder who was linked to Manchester United in recent transfer windows. The Saudi budgets for this season were released yesterday, and movement to the clubs has now begun as they look to strengthen the league’s image yet again.

Diaby Close to Al Ittihad:

Karim Benzema was a big-money signing made by the club last summer, but the player became unhappy during the season, having a falling out with manager Marcelo Gallardo and barely playing a minute towards the second half of the campaign. Benzema, however, is expected to remain at the club, with Laurent Blanc the leading candidate to take over at this moment in time. Stefano Pioli was originally tipped to take over, but Benzema was against the move.

Diaby has agreed to join Al Ittihad, and talks are now ongoing between the Saudi side and Aston Villa. The deal is now fully anticipated to be completed in the coming days, marking one of the first transfers to the league this summer, with many more expected.

Elsewhere, players like Kingsley Coman, Ademola Lookman, and Federico Chiesa are expected to join the league in the coming weeks. Coman was earmarked for Ittihad, but the club decided to go for Diaby in the end. Ederson is a target for Al Nassr, but they will walk away from the deal if Manchester City demand too much.
