Brentford Yet To Receive Any Offers For Ivan Toney This Summer
Ivan Toney has always been someone admired by a number of clubs within the top six of the Premier League, but he has yet to make that big move up to the next level.
There was a feeling Arsenal would win the race to sign the England striker this summer at the beginning of the window, but that move hasn’t come to fruition as of yet. Manchester United are also a club that is said to admire the attacker, but with the signing of Joshua Zirkzee in recent weeks, it’s unlikely the Red’s will move for Toney.
Brentford could keep Toney:
As of right now, Toney is expected to remain at Brentford this summer, according to a report from Sky Sports News. The Bee’s are said to have set an asking price of over £50 million for Toney, which is a fee nobody has threatened to reach as of yet. Tottenham are eyeing a striker but have set their sights on Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke, although the Cherrie’s currently view the player as an important part of the squad, making any deal difficult.
Thomas Frank is hoping to return Brentford to the top ten next season, and keeping hold of the best player in the squad will go a long way towards achieving that. Toney has scored 72 goals in 141 games for Brentford since signing, which is significantly more than anyone else at the club has managed in a similar time frame.
It’s felt that Toney would be open to leaving the club, and he has spoken out in the past about his desire to play for one of the bigger clubs in the league. Brentford, however, remains in a strong position due to the lack of offers on the table at this time and could end up keeping hold of their asset for that reason alone.
