Premier League Matchday 10 Predictions

Here are the Premier League Matchday 10 predictions!

It’s that time of the week again. Some will be jubilant, some will be depressed, and you have both those variants today with an ecstatic Yassin with Manchester United finally biting the bullet by sacking Erik Ten Hag and replacing him with Sporting manager Rúben Amorim.

On the other hand, I (Alex) could see Southampton go ten games without a win should they fail to beat Everton. Anyway, enough of the rambling. Back to the task; you all came here for the predictions.

But first, check out last week’s predictions to see how we did!

Premier League Matchday 10 Predictions & Preview

Newcastle vs Arsenal

Newcastle: Newcastle could not score, and although they scored against Chelsea, there was an opportunity for them to add to that tally, but Isak chose the wrong decision, emphasising their issues right now.

Arsenal: Arsenal again was far from their best against Liverpool. The Gunners need to kick on soon to compete for the league.

Predictions:

Alex’s Prediction: 3-1 Newcastle. Arsenal is missing key names, and their second choices aren’t as good yet. St. James’ Park will be rocking. The team needs to get them on their side. As shown in the past, they can swing either way.

Yassin’s Prediction: 2-1 Newcastle. The Magpies’ results are finally starting to match their performances. However, they played their best game of the season against City at St James Park. With Saliba and Gabriel absent, Newcastle comes out of the gates flying and wins.

Bournemouth vs Manchester City

Bournemouth: Iraola’s side scored late to gain a fantastic point against Champions League Aston Villa. With some tremendous saves, Travers also played a massive part in keeping it at 1-0 for so long. Travers will be needed for some considerable moments to keep Manchester City at bay.

Manchester City: The Citizens dominated the game against the Saints but could only score once. They also kept their first clean sheet since the first game week of the season.

Predictions:

Alex’s Prediction: 2-0 Manchester City. Their quality will prevail even with large numbers out. Bournemouth aren’t at that level yet; however, under Iraola, they could soon be very Aston Villa-esque.

Yassin’s Prediction: 3-2 Manchester City. An exciting football game on the South Coast ends with City beating the Cherries. Bournemouth have been excellent in all games against tough opponents this season, and they put in another good performance even if they don’t get anything out of the game.

Nottingham Forest vs West Ham

Nottingham Forest: Forest are unbelievable at the moment. Chris Wood gives off Barclays vibes, and Forest is an enjoyable team to watch.

West Ham: In the first half against Manchester United, the Hammers looked like a League 2 team. In the second half, they looked like Premier League Champions. It is unknown whether this is because they found something that worked or they were just playing against Ten Hag’s United.

Predictions:

Alex’s Prediction: 4-0 Forest. They will utterly blow West Ham away with an emphatic, scintillating performance that will stamp their authority on the Premier League right now.

Yassin’s Prediction: 2-0 Forest. Forest is solid defensively, counters well, and has a dream start to the season. At City Ground, they easily dismantle West Ham and continue their exceptional start.

Liverpool vs Brighton

Liverpool: Liverpool had an entertaining and equal encounter vs Arsenal, playing out in a 2-2 draw. Now it is time for the reverse fixture of the midweek cup game that happened where Liverpool came out 3-2 winners.

Brighton: Brighton went to St James Park and beat Newcastle. Then, they unexpectedly blew a 2-0 lead against Wolves in the last 10 minutes. However, 16 points from nine games will be more than Fabian Hürzeler wished for when he took the job.

Predictions:

Alex’s Prediction: Liverpool will win this encounter again, but it will be a 2-0 victory. They will see out the game with professionalism, and it will show their intent for the title this season.

Yassin’s Prediction: 1-1. Liverpool is becoming a much more compact team under Slot. Brighton always plays well at Anfield, even if the results do not reflect that. This time, they get a result.

Southampton vs Everton

Southampton: Well, did I  think we still wouldn’t have won a game when we started these predictions? No, but anyway, here we are. Southampton were vigilant vs Manchester City, and I was impressed with us only concerning one, whilst we also should have scored with one of our own

Everton: Everton are starting to click, as was always expected under the Premier League’s most underrated manager. This is Terrible news for the Saints.

Predictions:

Alex’s Prediction: 2-0 Southampton. Do we win, or am I predicting this with pure hope? We will come back to this at the end of the game.

Yassin’s Prediction: 2-1 Everton. Southampton is sticking to its football, and Everton is well set to play against it. Russell Martin’s stubbornness will take the Saints to the Championship.

Ipswich vs Leicester City

Ipswich: Ipswich will rue individual mistakes for their loss against Brentford. They need to start winning, though, if they want to have any hope of staying in the Premier League.

Leicester City: Leicester was appalling compared to Forest, and it was not good enough. However, a game against winless Ipswich next could help fans try and potentially get back onside with Cooper.

Predictions:

Alex’s Prediction: 1-0 Leicester. Ipswich’s inability to defend and Leicester’s somewhat threatening attack will cause harm as Ipswich’s winless run continues.

Yassin’s Prediction: 2-1 Ipswich. The Tractor boys finally get their first win of the season against a team close to their level.

Wolves vs Crystal Palace

Wolves: The Wolves’ run of incredibly tough games, referring to the sides they faced, has now become a run of games that most fans would deem easier, especially considering the current league table.

Crystal Palace: The Eagles finally won a football game. They returned to their blueprint from last season: defensive solidity and Mateta scoring. It is unclear whether this is a one-off or the start of something more sustainable.

Predictions

Alex’s Prediction: 2-0 Palace. They clicked midweek vs Villa and looked decent vs Spurs. Even though there are injury concerns with Eze, they will breeze past Wolves, who will have some strong doubts over Gary O’Neil.

Yassin’s Prediction: 3-2 Wolves. With Wolves’ scheduling finally easing up, they get their first win of the season.

Tottenham vs Aston Villa

Tottenham: Spurs have been very ‘Spurys’ lately, losing 1-0 to Crystal Palace but then beating the Champions in the Carabao Cup 2-1. Anything could happen in this game, and it’s almost impossible to predict, but I must.

Aston Villa: Villa blew the win in the last second against Bournemouth. They are still one of the better teams in the country, though.

Predictions:

Alex’s Prediction: 2-2. An entertaining game at White Hart Lane ends with the points shared.

Yassin’s Prediction: 3-1 Villa. Villa shows the difference in quality between them and Spurs with an easy win at White Hart Lane.

Manchester United vs Chelsea

Manchester United: The Red Devils are finally rid of Ten Hag’s nightmare. They were very good in the first half and bad in the second half against West Ham—a new and fresh start for United.

Chelsea: Chelsea is starting to look even better each week, with the appointment of Enzo Maresca looking even better week by week. Palmer will be on the hunt as he always is, but will he be able to inflict more damage on the wounded?

Predictions:

Alex’s Prediction: 3-1 Chelsea. Palmer does indeed inflict more damage onto Manchester United, allowing Maresca’s side to flourish even more and show that they really are in this top 4 race.

Yassin’s Prediction: 3-2 Manchester United. With a new manager bounce, Old Trafford rocking, and playing against Chelsea, is there any expectation of anything other than a Red Devils win? It was a good performance and an entertaining game—things that United fans forgot how they felt.

Brentford vs Fulham

Brentford: Brentford is doing what they always do and defying the odds. He scored late with a bit of trickery from Mbuemo, and he continues to be a top player this season.

Fulham: Fulham are starting to get into a slump. With their schedules toughening up, they lost to City and Villa and blew a win in the last second against Everton. They need to get out of this slump if they want to have a chance of playing European football next season.

Predictions:

Alex’s Prediction: 4-1 Brentford. The Bee’s coming out very strong victors in the West London Derby, really putting Fulham to the sword and starting to raise eyebrows at their poor form.

Yassin’s Prediction: 2-0 Fulham. Fulham gets back on track with a good win against the Bees in another of the non-ending London Derbies.
