SOURCES: Liverpool Remain Interested In Genoa Midfielder Morten Frendrup
Liverpool have been previously linked to Morten Frendrup from Genoa, and we understand the interest remains from the club. The English side are still admirers of the Danish midfielder, with his future currently uncertain heading into the latter stages of the summer transfer window.
A bid was reportedly sent from an English club last night to Genoa worth around €25m. Liverpool have been tracking the player for some time, but there is currently no confirmation that they are the team to have sent the bid. Frendrup made 37 appearances last season in Serie A for Genoa, scoring twice and contributing to five assists.
Liverpool Eye Frendrup:
The 23-year-old signed for the club from Bronby in January 2022, and despite his performances this season, he has yet to break into the Danish squad at the international level. Liverpool were heavily linked to the player prior to the signing of Endo from Stuttgart last summer, and the interest has carried over throughout the season.
Frendrup is the type of high action player that could work in an Arne Slot system, ranking extremely high for tackles won and recoveries in Serie A last season. His efforts have not gone unnoticed within the Italian league either, with AC Milan also having a keen interest in his talents.
Tottenham Hotspur have been another club linked to the player in recent months. Genoa have rejected the £25m bid sent by an English club outright already, but there are expectations an improved offer could be sent in the coming days to try and sign the player.
