Irish players are more frequently making their way to Europe.
In Ireland,we normally send our most talented young players to England. It is then left to the English academy system to nurture the players that will eventually play for Ireland’s international team. This is beginning to change, many players are choosing to move a bit further afield in order to pursue their career.
We also have a number of young prospects that were born and play their club football on the continent and represent Ireland.
Zack Elbouzedi was the latest player to add to this growing contingent, with the Dubliner’s move to Swedish side AIK confirmed.
